Back in the Islands

I'm back in Hawai'i.

The weather is excellent. It's good to be back in Honolulu. I don't have a phone yet so I haven't talked to my friends. It's OK though because I'm suffering from jet lag. I sleep at wierd times and even when I'm awake I feel kind of out of it- like I have no energy. No worries. It's good to be back in the 808 state.

My first surprising impressions of the US after not visiting for a year and a half:
1. People are fat.
2. Young women are fatter than I remember them being.
3. There are way too many American flags on things.
4. Children are way too fat.
5. It's a good feeling to speak English.
6. Parking is a big problem.

Obesity seems to be a bigger problem for young people than it used to be. I haven't lived in the States for about 4 years, but I don't remember the problem being this bad. It's spring break now so lots of young people are out and about and looking unhealthy. Something has to be done about it. But what? I like Arnold's idea of taking fast food out of the school cafeteria. It's a logical thing, isn't it? Maybe the problem is that the portions of food and drinks here are so huge and inexpensive. I ordered a medium sized cafe latte today at Gloria Jean's and when I got my drink I had to ask the girl who made it if it was a medium. I thought it was an extra-large. I hope I don't get used to these sizes too soon.

Three of the teams I chose to make it to the Final Four are out: Gonzaga, Boston College and Connecticut. My other pick, Duke, is still in it but I had them losing to UConn. Oops.

I really hope you don't get debu-chan

are u not going back to tokyo?

Aloha! So what is your plan in Honolulu? What has happened with your Tokyo life?

Are you a trust-fund baby that gets to move anywhere?
LOL, its funny ya bring up being fat. I work at a grocery store part-time and there is super-sized humans always shopping in it. They buy some healthy food with doritos, nestle chocolate, twisslers, etc. THE IRONY! Its a sick cycle. They wonder how they become fat also?
This one fat lady is in denial of her fatness. She wears skimpy clothes, dyied blond hair, and is always checking her cell phone. She acts like a teenager when she is about 35, and needs a bra for her backside.....no offense but its a little noticable and I needed to vent the hilarity of it somewhere...

is this vacation ? or are the bloggin from tokyo days over for now?

This is not "Bl0ggin' fr0m T0ky0" anymore but "Bl0ggin' fr0m Honolulu". Is that right?
We are all so curious. Have a nice weekend.
